About Us
Liberia's Statutory Agency for Cooperative Development
OUR HISTORY
From Grassroots Tradition to National Institution
Kuu & Susu traditions formalized by the Cooperative Act of 1936. First certified cooperative — Intofawar Farmers Cooperative Society, Foya, Lofa County, 1970s. CDA established April 7, 1981 by Executive Order #10, replacing the Ministry of Agriculture’s Cooperative & Marketing Division. Since then, CDA has served as Liberia’s national regulator and promoter of cooperatives, rebuilding the sector through periods of disruption.
